"I found my rigid body and mind relaxing and literally unchaining themselves from the fetters that had wound them up"

“Antarika is all about breath and movement therapy. But the movement to me was not just external - there was a tranquil journey within too.

I think it is so important not only to be able to have a good rapport with the person you are dealing with (especially a doctor/lawyer/instructor), but also to be able to lay your faith on that one person who can bring about the change you have been desiring. I have known Nirmala for several years as a dancer. So when she offered to bring some relief to my suffering (allergic rhinitis), I was hesitant at first, because I was a non-dancer. But soon I found my rigid body and mind relaxing and literally unchaining themselves from the fetters that had wound them up. When my body had learnt to relax, she took me through a process of meditation to calm my mind. Everything around me helped- the blue yoga mat that she offered, the paper lampshades and the candles in the otherwise dark room... they added a necessary aura providing an ethereal feel. For me, the whole process was a spiritual experience , extremely Zen like and I often felt I was transported into a private conversation with the High Lama from Shangrila!” ~ Hemalatha Ramani, Writer

"I was able to explore and express myself in my own way"

“I attended one session where I was able to explore and express myself in my own way - space and an inner freedom enveloped me. Your soft and soothing voice was encouraging and created calmness. The walking with nature in the morning was refreshing and alllowed connectivity with body and nature. Your body language made me feel relaxed and at ease with myself. Antarika to me is nectar.” ~ Mala Devi, Administrative Manager

"Antarika is a way of surrendering to what I cannot control, and achieving some peace and quiet joy in a time of chaos. It's transformative"

When the pandemic shutdown began, I reached out to Nirmala Seshadri, and asked her to create a sequence of breath and movement exercises to help me cope with the anxiety and uncertainty of the months ahead. She came through for me, customizing the sequence for my needs, and adapting it in each class depending on the state of my mind and body each specific day.

Even though we are on different continents, and the class could have felt disconnected, it did not. I felt restored to myself, and was better able to cope with the tasks ahead.

I have been doing the routine on my own for the past month, and it is one of the best, most anticipated parts of my day. It is just for me. And it is a way of surrendering to what I cannot control, and achieving some peace and quiet joy in a time of chaos.

I cannot say enough good things about Antarika. Give it a try. It’s transformative.” ~ Radha Lath, Writer

"Practising Antarika is a gift that keeps giving!"

“The techniques and movements taught by Nirmala have helped me immensely in training my mind to be calmer, more focused and have more self-control.  The mindful breathing soothes my stressed out mind and calms my bouts of anxiety while I have also learnt breathing exercises which give me instant energy or mood boost during a blah-day.

The dance-inspired movements have opened my eyes and mind to how my body could possibly have a will and existence which I have taken for granted for so long.  Nirmala has taught me gentle but effective exercises to strengthen my core, legs and shoulders without causing any discomfort or stress to the body.

Practising Antarika is a gift that keeps giving!

I have still so much to learn on my quest for mental and physical wellbeing as I continue on life’s journey, and I am thankful that I found Antarika and got to know Nirmala.  She is a very creative and inspiring teacher, I have benefitted immensely from all that I have learnt from her and hope to continue to strengthen my mind and improve my health under her kind and nurturing guidance." ~ Meng Hwi, Communications Professional

"Antarika is like a flower"

"You provide a safe space and leeway in that space, to explore and express ourselves. You encourage, inspire and bring out the best in us. Your body language shows a woman who is at ease and comfortable with herself. You allow us to relax with you…Antarika to me is like a flower. My life is fine, but my life is better with the flowers. That’s what Antarika is about”… Jennifer Lim, Senior Singapore Lawyer

"A holistic system… hope for healing & strength"

Antarika puts me in a zone where I can now go to when I am stressed, tired and cannot sleep. From a physical standpoint, my core strength has improved so much. "Perfect connection, pure self-expression"

“The perfect connection between physical movements, emotions and consciousness. It is a pure self-expression, discovering the real you. I felt that I was letting myself go and from another perspective observing this self that I let go. Very interesting in terms of self-analysis and development. I felt in balance, really myself. Thank you for this beautiful experience and for opening this door for me.” ~ Adelaide Castano, Writer

"Subtly challenges, encourages creative movement & to just be"

“Antarika has helped to challenge my yoga practice considerably. Instead of only focusing on getting into a pose, I find myself learning how to appreciate the process and the spaces. There is a lot of focus on the inward journey and learning to see things from different perspectives, in unexpected ways. I have always wanted my yoga practice to challenge me and push me further but in subtle ways, and Antarika does that. It also encourages creative movement, and in a world where we can often be weighed down by routine and repetition, my weekly sessions are a space to put all that aside and  just be.” ~ Mrina Avadhani, Lecturer
