“Antarika is all about breath and movement therapy. But the movement to me was not just external - there was a tranquil journey within too.
I think it is so important not only to be able to have a good rapport with the person you are dealing with (especially a doctor/lawyer/instructor), but also to be able to lay your faith on that one person who can bring about the change you have been desiring. I have known Nirmala for several years as a dancer. So when she offered to bring some relief to my suffering (allergic rhinitis), I was hesitant at first, because I was a non-dancer. But soon I found my rigid body and mind relaxing and literally unchaining themselves from the fetters that had wound them up. When my body had learnt to relax, she took me through a process of meditation to calm my mind. Everything around me helped- the blue yoga mat that she offered, the paper lampshades and the candles in the otherwise dark room... they added a necessary aura providing an ethereal feel. For me, the whole process was a spiritual experience , extremely Zen like and I often felt I was transported into a private conversation with the High Lama from Shangrila!” ~ Hemalatha Ramani, Writer
